As life expectancy continues to grow, technology is increasingly being seen as the answer to meet the health needs of an aging population.

In this workshop, you will explore emerging technologies being researched and utilised to improve the patient care experience by getting hands-on with code and the cloud. At the end of this session, you will understand the fundamentals of emerging technologies disrupting the healthcare industry and you’ll be able to better apply those concepts to your organisation.

Learning Modules

Topics we will cover as part of the workshop

All modules will be hands on and fully facilitated by AWS solutions architects, to ensure attendees leave with a thorough understanding of each topic.


Event Details

The workshop will be run in capital cities across Australia, which can be selected on registration.

Workshop participants will be divided into small teams that will be paired with an AWS Solutions Architect who will be providing guidance throughout the day. The workshop will be broken into modules and cover the primary topics, and it is expected that participants will be hands-on in the AWS console to better understand the experience from a developers perspective.

Amazon has a peculiar approach to innovation that is intrinsically linked to how we use technology, and organise our teams. In this session, you’ll be introduced to how we innovate at Amazon, organized around four interdependent elements: Culture, Mechanisms, Architecture, and Organisation.
We will be collecting streaming physiological data from wearables using an IoT broker and use AWS services to look for anomalies and display the physiological data in a visually consumable manner.
We will look at Alexa features for healthcare, as well as build an Alexa skill to get medical services delivered by robotic devices.
Lunch will be provided.
We will build and use Machine Learning models to provide immediate feedback on rehabilitation exercise form, using common at home devices.
